Suspect:  Virgie Vigil, age 53, Chimayo, NM

Charged:  DWI, Speeding

On 3/15/08 deputy observed suspect travelling at a high rate of speed on SR 76.  Upon contact with driver, deputy could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath.  Suspect showed signs of impairment.  She was then given SFST's and was found to be impaired and was placed under arrest.  She was read the NM Implied Consent and agreed to give a breath test; results on Brac were .09, .08.  She was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

0208002176 / Battery against a household member / 3-15-08

Location: Bonnie Lane, Edgewood

Arrested: Richard Baros, age 55, Edgewood, NM

On March 15, 2008, the above deputy responded to the above location regarding a domestic disturbance.  After investigation, the above suspect was arrested for striking and causing injury to his adult daughter.  The suspect was booked into the adult detention center accordingly.

Charged:  Warrant - Failure to Appear

On 3-14-2008 at 10:08 PM, the suspect was operating the vehicle south at the location at 73 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone.  It was revealed that there was an active warrant for the suspect's arrest for Failure to Appear that had been issued by the McKinley County Magistrate Court.

Suspect:  Harold Martinez, 35, Espanola, NM

Charged:  Aggravated DWI, Speeding

On 3-14-2008 at 8:12 PM, the suspect was operating the vehicle north at the location at 90 miles per hour in a posted 65 mile per hour construction zone.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .16 or greater..

Suspects entered a residence and took several firearms, X-Box and games, Sapphire Ring. Some items were able to be entered into NCIC as stolen. Case is under investigation.

Sometime betweeen November 2007 and December 2007, unknown persons entered a storage unit and took a 1987 Chevy Camero, yellow Iroc style. The vehicle is entered NCIC as stolen.

Case# 0208002125 Aggravated Burglary

Location of incident: 35 Victorio Pk

Suspect: 2 hispanic males 16-19 yrs old  Charges/Arrest: pending

On Thurs 3/13/08 at approximately 2344hrs/11:44pm, victim was upstairs in his bedroom, when 2 unknown males unlawfully gained entry to his vehicle and used the garage door remote control to open the garage door. The suspects then unlawfully entered the residence via an unlocked door and proceeded upstairs, where they pulled out a handgun and began beating the victim with the gun. One of the suspects face was covered with a mask. Suspect threated to shoot suspect, if he reported the incident to police. Suspects ran off as victims roomate got up from his bedroom to investigate. Victim was transported to St. Vincent hospital for head injuries. Victim suspects that his ex-girlfriend may be somehow involved. Investigation continues.

On 03-13-08 the above persons who are roommates and ex-bofriend and girlfriend, were involved in a physical dispute and both had visible injuries.  Both parties had conflicting stories and both were arrested on the charge of Battery against a household member.

Victim reported that sometime between 3-01-08 and 3-12-08 an unknown person(s) unlawfully entered his two unsecured outdoor sheds and stole several misc. tools and a rifle.  Estimated value of the property is $4,000.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.
