Case # 0207007452 / Driving While Intoxicated / 9/21/2007

Location of Incident: Camino Debra at SR599 West Frontage Road

Arrested: Michael R. Madison, 47 yoa, Santa Fe, NM

The above named individual drove his vehicle straddling the center line on State Road 599 at/near the intersection of the West Frontage Road. The defendant did not utilize turn signal use and was stopped. The defendant attempted to conceal the odor of alcoholic beverages both inside his vehicle and on his person by spraying a large quantity of cologne on his person and the vehicle interior. The defendant also attempted to mask the odor of alcohol by placing an object into his mouth. The defendant admitted to consuming several beers and was subsequently tested and arrested for DWI, Careless Driving and other violations.

Victim reported that sometime between10:00am and 8:10pm on Thursday 9/20/07, unknown person(s) UNLAWFULLY gained entry via an unlocked door to a 1993 Honda Civic2d, and stole a car stereo and radar detector valued at $170.00. Investigation continues.

Suspect entered through Kitchen window on 9/19/07-10:30pm-8:30am and stole several lbs of ground beef and several cases of beer.  Case is under investigation.

Suspect: Julio Ceasar Lopez-Lopez  Age:23     Santa Fe

Julio Ceasar Lopez-Lopez was arrested for being in possession of a stolen license plate and concealing his true identity after being stopped on Vista Tesuque Street for a traffic violation.  He also had (2) outstanding arrest warrants which were served upon him.

Deputies responded to the Dairyqueen in Edgewood in reference to a stabbing victim.  Victim had been stabbed and his wallet was taken across StateRoad 344 from the Dairyqueen. Victim's injury was to his stomach and not life threatening.  Case is under investigation.

On the above date, the above officder responded to the above location regarding a burglary investigation.  Victim reported that unknown person(s) kicked open the door to the residence and stole approximately 450 DVD's and CD's.  Supect(s) then kicked open the rear door and stole an IBM laptop computer, an HP calculator, an antique gold bracelet and a folder containing financial paperwork to include two check books.  Some evidence was recovered at the scene.

Information was received from the State of North Carolina that the above subject  was residing in the Santa Fe County area. Warrants Division agents began investigation and surveillance for the suspect. On this date the subject was seen on St. Francis Drive.  He was stopped and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Santa Fe County Jail on Fugitive from Justice pending extradition on the North Carolina, Charging him with Robbery and Failure to comply with conditions of Probation. He had a $50,000.00 bond on the North Carolina charge.
