County Attorney
Mission Statement
The Santa Fe County Attorney's Office serves as legal council to the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Fe County, the County Manager, elected officials, and certain boards and commissions. In addition, the Attorney's Office provides legal counsel for the City-County Extraterritorial Land Use Authority, the Extraterritorial Land Use Commission, the Solid Waste Management Agency, and the Regional Planning Authority.
What We Do

Represent the Board of County Commissioners, the County Manager, elected officials, and certain boards and commissions in federal and state courts.

Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other documents.

Reviews proposed ordinances, resolutions, polices and procedures.

Assist Santa Fe County staff and officials with understanding and complying with state and federal laws which apply to the County, including the Open Meetings Act, Inspection of Public Records Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act.

Office Hours
We are open to the public during the following business hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. , closed during the lunch hour from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. and closed for business on Saturdays, Sundays and County Holidays.
